A Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, Lord God Almighty,
Lord, You are awesome and mighty. You are the greatest; the pinnacle of existence. The Trinity, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit living in perfect community, the definition of love. How you treat each other is the definition of right and good. You are our model and our example.
Lord, forgive us when we do not measure up to You. We were created by You to be like You; to bear Your image. We fall so short of that. We are sinful. We are evil. We are completely and totally unlike You. You are God and we are guilty of being ungodly. Please forgive us. Forgive us of the sins we committed in the last day. Forgive us of the sins that come to our mind at this moment. Lord, forgive us and restore our relationship with You.
Thank You for coming to us. Thank You for seeking us out. When we were distant from You, You did not wait for us to get our act together. You did not wait for us to become better but you came into our situation, into the mess we created. You came for us. You came after us. God the Father sent Christ the Son to deal with the evil we created. Thank You. Then the Holy Spirit has visited each one of us wooing us toward Your love, inviting us into a relationship with You. Thank You, for not leaving us alone. I love You.
Lord, because you have been so good to us in the past, we ask that you take care of us in the future. Look after us. Be with our loved ones. Continue to invite those we care about into a deeper walk with You. Continue to bless us with Your goodness and Your grace. Lord, there are some specific things on our hearts in this moment. Please show yourself to be God in each of those areas.
We pray these things in the name of Jesus Christ the Son God, the one who conquered death. If Jesus could conquer death, then what we ask is miniscule in comparison, Amen.
