Family Update from Jennifer

We have or will be celebrating a number of different milestones in our family.  At the beginning of the year, Julianna started kindergarten.  She had an amazing year, both academically and socially.  She developed a group of wonderful friends, who she continues to see today.  We all tell her that now she is a 1st grader.  “Not officially,” Julianna says.  So she does not consider herself, “officially” a 1st grader until the summer is over.  Such a technicality.  Needless to say, she is so excited for the upcoming year.  One reason is that she will be a girl scout, which she has been wanting to do for awhile, and the other reason, and more importantly, she will finally have RECESS!!  You see where her priorities are.

In March, as many of you know, Brian spent a week serving on mission with our church in Haiti.  It was really a life-changing trip for all of the men who went, which you will can read more about in an earlier portion of our newsletter.

The following month, we were able to host our annual student leadership retreat right here at our home church.  It was great to have Drexel students in our own backyard, along with students from West Chester University and Rutgers.

Back in May, Jennifer celebrated her 35th birthday.  Brian’s is coming…but not until November and he relishes the fact that he’s the younger spouse.

In July, Brian and Jennifer will be celebrating their 10 year anniversary.  Amazing!  It has been a wonderful journey, with more good things from the Lord ahead!

Jennifer has intentionally focused efforts in her spare time to the worship team at church.  Being a part of a ministry like that is so fulfilling and is a source of great contentment and joy.  The team is such an amazing group of people, she would not trade it for the world.

Over the last 2 years, Jennifer has been serving as the director of counseling services for a local crisis pregnancy center.  She oversees all of their counseling programs and helps women and families who are facing unplanned pregnancy and disease.   It is a Christian ministry that also shares the gospel message with everyone who comes through their doors.  They reach about 10,000 young women and men a year and are a vital resource in the community.

It is amazing that the summer is almost halfway over.  Time just seems to go by quicker every year.  We live in a wonderful community and have such a great core group of friends and families that we are connected to.  The Lord has truly blessed our family in so many ways.  We are grateful for each and every day.
