Drexel Photo Prayer Blog

One of my passions is to intimately connect the larger body of Christ in our churches with our academic communities.  There is so much going on at Universities and Colleges.  Students, faculty, professional staff and administration need you to know and care about who they are and what they do.  From time to time I will post an image of Drexel and some related prayer concerns. Although I work specifically at Drexel and these posts will be specifically about Drexel, please use these prayer posts to not only pray for Drexel but for the academic community most closely connected to you and all academic communities in general.  For the majority of the pictures the photographer is Michael “Hair” Kelley the Baptist Campus Minister at Widener University.  He is a semi-professional photographer so if you like his work feel free to contact him at theolobster@gmail.com.

The Bio Wall inside the Papadakis Integrated Sciences Building at Drexel University by Michael “Hair” Kelley

The Papadakis Integrated Sciences Building is a new academic building at Drexel University.  Education is the central purpose of academic communities.  Receiving an education is the central motivating factor for all students.  It is why Drexel exists and why students show up on campus.  Please pray for students:

1.  That they have the discipline to work hard toward a good education.

2.  That their work is fruitful.  That they are able to learn what is necessary.  That they are able to remember what is needed.  That they are able to accurately reproduce what is asked when it is asked of them.

3.  That other life factors (family, friends, finances, etc.) do not prevent them from accomplishing their goal.

4.  That they value their education but realize they are intrinsically worth more than the grades they receive.

5.  That they not only educate their minds with the information available at Drexel but also work on their bodies and souls becoming mature individuals.

6.  That their search for informational truth in a specific area of knowledge causes them to find the ultimate truth through the person of Jesus Christ.

7.  Please pray for me as I connect with the students in the midst of their getting an education.

Thank you for your prayers.  If you took the time to pray for Drexel students today please let us know by leaving a comment below.

  1. Wow! I really like your post, but then also your photo! That’s an amazing structure. The green in the middle and the spiraling staircase are amazing. Thanks for posting this!

    • The credit definitely goes to my friend Hair Kelley, although, I do have to say the building makes it very easy to take a good picture of it.

      • Haha yeah I bet! 🙂 What is the building exactly?

      • It is called the Papadakis Integrated Sciences Building. At Drexel University it houses the Chemistry and Biology departments with their laboratories and lecture halls. I believe at the time of construction the Bio Wall in the center of the picture was the largest Bio Wall in the U.S. That means it virtually replenishes and filters the air for the building. It is on the corner of 33rd and Chestnut Sts in the heart of Philadelphia.
