My Leap Day Question – Random Fun Post

I am reading Dr. Alan Gregerman’s book Lessons from the Sandbox: Using the 13 Gifts of Childhood to Rediscover the Keys to Business Success.  In the book he encourages us to rediscover the use of play to begin to enjoy our work again. So instead of telling you about what he says I suggest you read it for yourself.  However; I’m not going to talk about it.  I am going to do it.  This post is completely random.  Don’t try to get any real meaning from it.  It is just a fun idea I have that I wish to share with you.

Once every 4 years we had a day, “leap day” to the year.  Leap year has 366 days in it.  We add leap day also to the month of February.  February will have 29 days in it during leap year.  Why don’t we add an extra day to the week?  Why don’t we make leap week be an eight day week?  Our leap week could go Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Leap day, Wednesday, Thursday…  Or have leap day be inserted wherever in the week it would fall.  We arbitrarily add a day to a year and a month why not add it to the week?  Wherever it falls it is a holiday and we get to do no work that day.  What do you think?  Mr. President make that happen.  In honor of John Acuff I’m gonna call a preemptive “Jesus Juke” on anyone mentioning Genesis or the Holy  seven days of Creation.  “The Jesus Juke is when someone takes what is clearly a joke filled conversation and completely reverses direction into something serious and holy.”
