Finals Week Prayer 12/13/2012

Dear Heavenly Father, Lord God Almighty,

Maker of Heaven and Earth, Creator of all things, Leader of our lives, Healer of our hearts, Lover of our souls;

Guide, director, comforter, friend;

Lord, it is Thursday!  You have gotten us through this far!  Thank you for being with us up unto this point.  Thank you for all the unnoticed blessings.  Thank you for all the times you have picked us up this week when we needed it.  Thank you for all the times you protected us from chaos when we did not even realize it.  Thank you for showing your self to be God this.

Lord, it is Thursday and we are tired.  We are exhausted.  Give us enough to make it through today.  Give us enough to get up tomorrow.  Keep us strong.  Help us to finish well.  Help our rest to be just a little bit more fruitful.  Help our minds to be able to run on a little less energy.  Give us just an added bonus of concentration.  Help us in this moment to reach beyond ourselves and into You.

Lord, we are tired but we rest on your promises.

Isaiah 40:28-31 (NIV)

Do you not know?  Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;  they will run and not grow weary,
    they will walk and not be faint.

Be the God who renews our strength.  We pray this in the strong and powerful name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

If you are a Drexel student struggling this week I will be available on campus Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week.  Do not hesitate to call or email.
