A Prayer for Diligence and Perseverance During Finals Week

Dear Heavenly Father, Lord, God Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth, Creator, Sustainer, Healer and Friend,

Lord be with us.  Get us through.  Help us to get up and wake up today.  Help us to study as hard as yesterday.  Help us to perform as well as if we were not tired from the work and effort we put in.   As it is finals week at Drexel our stress levels and the pressure we feel have increased.  Please Lord, allow us to use this extra stress for motivation.  Allow us to be challenged by the added work and to be invigorated by the opportunity to perform.  Give us the motivation to study diligently.  Give us the the ability to go the extra hour and read that next chapter and look over that other page of notes.  Help our learning to be honed by the pressure.  Shape us and form us into better students this week than what we would be otherwise.  Give us the ability to work hard.

Do not let us be overwhelmed by the chaos.  Do not let us look at the massive amounts of information needed to be remembered and have our courage falter.  Do not let us give up on this ten week term.  Do not let us panic.  Do not let anxiety and worry discourage us from even trying.  Do not let anxiety and worry prevent our minds from functioning properly, from retaining information, from accurately reproducing that information as required, or from managing our time efficiently.  Help us not to spend time thinking about all that we have to instead of just doing it diligently.  Help the pressure to be managed by diligent work.

And help our diligence to be rewarded with success.

We pray these things specifically, in the name of the savior, Jesus Christ, Amen.
