Speaking Engagements

It has been a busy couple of months and I have had many opportunities to speak.  Below is a list of everywhere and everything I have spoken on since April.  If there is a place online where you can get the content of what I said I linked to it.  Some of the links will be added after this post because I will post the text of what I said on this site soon.

4/26 Facilitated the discussion at the Drexel Christian Faculty Group:  The Five Big Questions Students Are Asking.  Jesus created a safe place for young adults, including his disciples, to ask and answer the big questions of life.  Matthew 19: 16 -22.  (Outline posted on this site.)

4/29 Taught at the Young Adult Meeting for First Ukrainian Evangelical Baptist Church of Philadelphia:  Evangelism Training.  When sharing the Gospel it is necessary to know the Gospel, to know your audience and it is helpful to shape your story.  (The outline and Evangelism Training Worksheet is posted on this site.)

5/1 Preached with translation at the Vietnamese Baptist Church of Philadelphia:  Translating the Gospel. We don’t need to make the Gospel relevant to culture.  The Gospel is always relevant.  But our cultural misunderstandings could lead us to communicating the Gospel in such a way that is not heard accurately. Comparing Acts 3:1 – 4:4 and Acts 14: 8 – 19. (English sermon text posted on this site.)

5/5 Led a prayer for Prayer for Promise – National Day of Prayer at St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Chapel, Drexel University.  Prayer is three simple words: Sorry, Thank you, and Please.

5/12 Presented the Gospel at Campus Wide Worship.  Campus Wide Worship is a joint event sponsored by many of the Christian Student Organizations at Drexel University.  (Text posted on this site.)

5/15 Preached at First Baptist Church of Elkton, MD:  A Safe Place to Ask Questions.  (Audio Linked)  Jesus created a safe place for young adults, including his disciples, to ask and answer the big questions of life.  Matthew 19:16 – 30.

5/18 Led First Baptist Church of North East, MD’s prayer meeting.

5/22 Preached at LifeSong Christian Church in Elkton, MD:  A Safe Place to Ask Questions.  Jesus created a safe place for young adults, including his disciples, to ask and answer the big questions of life.  Matthew 19:16 – 30.  (Text posted on this site.)

5/22 Taught at Youth Group of First Baptist Church of Perryville, MD:  Transitions.  Defending your faith while in transition from Child to Adult requires you to do four things:  1) Admit that you are responsible for your faith. 2)  Identify your essential beliefs.  3)  Measure your doubt.  4)  Sure up your weaknesses. 5/29 Led Corporate prayer for Mid-Atlantic Vietnamese Family Conference.  Prayer is three simple words: Sorry, Thank you, and Please.

5/30 Taught Break-out session for High School at Mid-Atlantic Vietnamese Family Conference:  Evangelism Training.  When sharing the Gospel it is necessary to know the Gospel and to know our audience.

6/5 Preached at Christ Community Church of Philadelphia:  Compassion.  Using Daniel’s priestly prayer as an example of Christ, we are encouraged to enter into our world intentionally, missionally, sacrificially and redemptively.  Daniel 9:4 – 19.   (Text posted on this site.)

6/9 Led Invocation for Drexel University School of Education Commencement Ceremony.

6/9 Led Invocation for Drexel University College of Nursing and Health Professionals Commencement Ceremony.

6/23 Taught at Drexel Students for Christ‘s Large Group: Permission Evangelism.  Using our stories about God at work in our lives we can encourage others to ask us questions that ultimately lead to the Gospel.  1 Peter 3:13 – 17.  (Text posted on this site.)

6/25 Taught at the Exist Conference at Church of the Nazarene-Immanuel in Lansdale, PA:  Work-Ship;  Showing Off the Image of God through What We Do.  God is a God who gets things done.  Because of the image of God in all of humanity there are ways we can put God on display as we work.  Genesis 1:26 – 28.  (Text posted on this site.)

6/25 Taught at the Exist Conference at Church of the Nazarene-Immanuel in Lansdale, PA:  Euclid, Einstein and Elephants! OH MY!  The Christian doctrine of the Trinity, the personal nature of God and the idea of revelation are the perfect answers to the powerful questions that relativism raises.  (PowerPoint available upon request.)

7/3  Preached at First Baptist Church of North East, MD:  A God Who Can Be Know.  Christ plays in 10,000 places.  God is at work everywhere and in everyone’s life.  Often though people do not know the God that is at work in their life.  Acts 17:16 – 34.  (Text posted on this site.)
